Zombie Apocalypse

Drake: don't worry about it... I'm not used to receiving it so it seems fine to me... *he presses the gas peddle more and the buildings start whirring by... The first zombie appears... It screeches and runs out into the road... There is an agonizing crunch as the tread crushes the body... Drake doesn't even flinch at the death... Several more start attacking... One gets hit and splatters on the window... One suddenly leaps up and grabs onto the side... It claws and bites at scout's window... It's lifeless eyes staring at her from inches away as it screeches and tries to get to her...*

Scout: *winces but doesn't seem that affected, she speaks quietly* Fun fact, the slower a vehicle goes, the more efficient its fuel consumption. Obviously not very useful at the moment but perhaps when we're out if this pod....

Drake: *his voice sounds bitter and he speaks through clenched teeth* I plan on killing as many of these basta.... Zombies... As possible on our way... *he turns slightly to crush another...* please again excuse my language... I really hate these things...

Scout: *nods* Of course. I'm referring to the down moments...

Drake: no problem... *he crushes a few more and finally after awhile he slows down... There is still a zombie clawing at her window... He pulls to a stop... He gets out and immediately the zombie screeches and goes for him... He shoots it through the head and it falls two feet from him... He pulls out his knife and jabs it into its brain once for good measure then gets back in the vehicle... He is spattered in blood... He hits the gas and the truck slowly crushes the zombie as it starts moving*

Scout: *winces* Thanks....

Drake: anytime... *he keeps the vehicle at a easy pace...* a few things I should mention.... the back seat makes into a bed... There are a lot of looters for a few miles so when you need to rest you'll have to sleep on that... Also if you need a restroom brake there is a panel in the floor with a hook... Just pull that up and there is a makeshift toilet... Just pull the cord when you're done...

Scout: *is a very modest person, she acts normal* Oh, thanks... *she's silent for a while* So, you've been honest with me. I guess it's my turn.... Do you have any questions?

((It's in the back of the truck.... Out of sight))

Drake: not much other than what your story is..

((Aah ok))
Scout: Story... *she thinks for a moment* Well, I grew up in the south. Had a pretty normal childhood. Girl scouts, camping, stuff like that. Got a bachelors degree in biology, then a PhD in Microbiology and Organic Chemistry... I had only been out of school for a year or so before it happened

Drake: family? Did any of them make it? *sounds hopeful*

Scout: *shakes her head* It's ok though... I wasn't exactly close with my family

Drake: I'm sorry scout... I... I really hoped... *sighs*

Scout: Don't worry about it... So, your story? *she mentally braces herself* If you don't mind

Drake: i was drafted during my first year of college... I did a lot of training and missions and then the outbreak... I got assigned protection detail on the president but he was infected... We didn't know... Well he died and I got assigned to survivor transport... *he decided to leave out a lot of unnecessary details*

Scout: Ah... *she avoids asking about the family, but is still curious*

Drake: *sighs* well you told me what happened to your family... I might as well tell you about mine... *he pauses*

Scout: *listens, a soft expression on her face*

Drake: I uh... I don't actually know who my parents are... And you already know about my wife and kid... The army guys were basically my family for the most part and they died like everyone does now...

Scout: I'm really sorry.... How old are you anyway?

Drake: *sighs* I'm 25

((This is interesting... She is like a few months older than him))

((Hmm? She's 26 but i don't know when her birthday is.... If i do then I forgot))
Scout: That's interesting...

Drake: how about you?
