Zombie Apocalypse

Scout: *follows silently, she has her hand on the wall to keep from getting lost, she holds her flashlight ready to turn it on at a moments notice, she follows the sound of his footsteps*

Drake: *the goggles allow him to see in the darkness... He pauses and listens for sound... A rustling noise comes from behind the door... He readies his gun and opens the door....* if you want to live don't move!

*a hoarse and pained voice answers* d..drake? Is is that you man?

Drake: *releases his gun* what happened...!? *he starts to rush over*

*voice* stay back!... *voice fills with despair* they... They got me man...

Drake: how long ago?

Voice: about an hour... The fevers already spread... I tried to stop it... I even cut off my foot.. But I didn't get it in time,,, please man... I don't have my gun... Please don't let me turn...

Drake: *the click of a gun* I'm... I'm so sorry man... I should have come with you...

Voice: it was supposed to be routine... You didn't know... Before you do it man I want you to promise me... *groans* promise me you'll find my wife... A...and my kids... Ju..just try..

Drake: I promise...

Voice: thanks man... You've been a brother to me... Don't warn me you're about to do it I don't want to be waiti-

*a gun goes off...*

Drake: *there is a long silence*

Scout: *shudders and covers her face, she makes no sound*

Drake: *... Suddenly he yells and something hits the wall...*

Scout: *shudders again, she silently turns to walk back to the truck, her eyes are moist*

Drake: *ten minutes later he returns... His knuckles are bloodied and his eyes are somewhat empty looking but otherwise he acts as if nothing happened he gets in the drivers seat...* ready?

Scout: *nods and pretends that she doesn't notice his hands, she stays silent*

Drake: *hits the gas and busts through the wall... He turns on a screen in the dash and hits some buttons..*

Scout: *looks at him out of the corner of her eye*

Drake: *stares ahead at the road..... The sound of the vehicle attracts a few zombies... He keeps driving... His jaw clenches and unclenches... Finally he speaks* do you want to ask me something?

Scout: *thinks "only about a million things"* No...

Drake: why didn't you wait?... *his voice is even and he continues to look ahead*

Scout: I- *she sighs in defeat* The last time I left someone alone, they were attacked...

Drake: ... *he sighs* I figured out you followed me when I started back... Your handprints were all over the walls... I... I'm sorry you had to hear that... *his voice is emotionless and he stares ahead at the road* if we are going to be working together for a while tho it's only right that we share information... Drake: listen it's too late... He isn't the first friend iv had to kill and he won't be the last... There isn't anything I can do but keep an eye out for his family and if they are zombies or have been bitten I have to kill them. *he still speaks without emotion* but really... If you have any questions you might as well ask.. *he pushes the gas a little more and they speed up...* I'll warn you... There is a pod of zombies coming up... You might not want to look.

Scout: I can handle it... And I wasn't referring to your friend, by the way...

Drake: then what?
