The Divide 2

Col watches her, not sure why she is looking upset.

Daria: *gets up... She looks down and starts to walk back to the camp*

Col follows her.

Aurora: *follows Ryo*

Daria: *she gets back to the camp and sits down... She watches a few clouds drift past*

Col sits down next to her.

Daria: *a few tears run down her cheeks as she sits quietly... She really could use a hug*

Col:

Daria: *turns hugging him suddenly and burying her face against his chest while she cries*

Col blinks.
"(Why does she have her arms around me?)"

Daria: *she keeps her arms tightly around him...*

Jasper: *wonders how long the guy is staying*

Col: "(Perhaps I should copy this gesture?)"
Col awkwardly hugs her.

Daria: *relaxes slightly when he does... She nuzzles against his chest slightly... She feels tired and yawns as she hugs him and leans against his chest... She feels safe...*

No sound of beating comes from his chest. He seems to be looking around, as if looking for an answer to figure out why this is happening.

Daria: col?

Col looks down to Daria.
"Yes?"

Daria: uhm... Why is your heart not making sound?

Col cocks his head to the side.
"My heart?"

Daria: *looks up at him... Her arms are still wrapped around him* yes... I don't hear it beating...

Col: "Was it supposed to?"

Daria: *nods* uhm... If you're alive then your heart beats... But... But your heart isn't... *looks puzzled and presses two fingers gently on his neck to feel his jugular and its pulse*

No pulse can be felt.

Col: "Is something wrong with the way my heart is?"

Daria: col... I think I know why you don't feel... Why pain doesn't hurt... *she looks up at him with an odd expression* I think you are dead... *she seems fascinated by this and she looks in his eyes*

Col laughs.
"No, no. I couldn't be dead. I wouldn't be able to speak if I were dead! Well, unless I had some weird enchantment on me that caused my skeleton to say prophetic things to random adventurers."

Daria: but if your heart isn't beating then you aren't alive.... Your heart isn't beating... You have no pulse... Here.. *she takes his hand and presses two of his fingers against her neck on her jugular so he can feel her pulse...* do you feel that?
